SAVA INSURANCE GROUP AND ALLIED INSURANCE BROKERS
Reno/Tahoe, NV – April 14, 2008 - The AMS Users’ Group awarded the 2008 Automation Excellence Award to two deserving agencies at The AMS Users’ Group 32nd National Conference in Reno, Nevada. Sava Insurance Group won in the newly formed 25 users or less category; Allied Insurance Brokers won the award in the more than 25 user category. This prestigious award was created to recognize agencies that really make use of the technology available to them today, and find innovative ways to make that technology work harder.
Sava Insurance Group of Waterford, Connecticut, is a female owned and operated agency that’s the only agency in its county to be fully automated and paperless. They use AMS SETWrite for real-time rating, AMS TransactNOW for connectivity and AMS 360—all of which combine to let this smaller agency deliver big-time customer service. Each user has two monitors, so they can pull up client information on one screen and perform the task at hand on the other.
This, in combination with online faxing and e-mail, and a continuing focus on education, make Sava an example for smaller agencies.
“Sava’s success illustrates that an investment in technology and the willingness to use these tools to their full potential can enhance customer service for agencies of all sizes,” said Chuck Lowe, outgoing president of The AMS Users’ Group.
Allied Insurance Brokers Inc. of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania has made it to the finals of the Automation Excellence Awards for the past four years, and their commitment to technology is second to none. The agency has been at the forefront of automation since the 1980s, employs T-filing and operates within a completely paperless environment with electronic submissions to all carriers. It migrated from AMS AfW to AMS 360, and takes full advantage of Document360 for imaging—all of which improves the level of customer service they offer. Allied has a virtual private network that enables employees to work from anywhere. When they’re in the office, each workstation has three monitors, enabling everyone to work more efficiently and answer customer inquiries on the spot.
CSR24 makes sure customers always have service anytime of the day or night. Incoming mail is scanned the day it is received and stored in virtual mailboxes for instant access. To make sure every user makes the most of technology to increase customer service, the agency has a dedicated training system and are active participants in conference.
“When you look for a prime example of an agency that’s doing it right, that’s embracing technology and using it for all its worth to benefit its efficiency and ultimately, its customers, it’s impossible not to think of Allied Insurance Brokers,” said Chuck Lowe. “They don’t just ramp up and stop. Every year, they find a way to use technology tools a little more. They add functionality, they invest in what they need and they rally their people around the cause.”
Other finalists for the 2008 Automation Excellence Award were: Leslie S. Ray Insurance Inc. in the 25 users or less category; and McQueary Henry Bowles Troy and Lanier Upshaw in the more than 25 users category.
The AMS Users’ Group represents more than 15,000 independent insurance agencies that use AMS Services agency management systems. The Group’s main objective of “influencing the future of agency automation” is accomplished through various education, communication and advocacy programs.
